Vision

The mission of the DDC Think Tank is to engage in research and advocacy with a focus on the intersection’s disability and chronic conditions in communities of color. Our research and advocacy may one-day help address public opinion and public policy, offering professional advice, guidance, and actionable solutions to businesses, NGOs, and Academic institutions.

Thirty-six (36) percent of disabled Black Americans live in poverty, compared with twenty-six (26) percent of all disabled Americans.


Disabled Black people often must battle harder to get correct diagnosis and services. This is especially true for “invisible disabilities” such as autism, which educators are more likely to dismiss as behavioral issues in Black children than in white.


While overall unemployment rate for the general population has passed 9%, the U.S. Department of Labor - Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that unemployment rate for people with disabilities is over 14%, at least 50% higher.
